Il festival di Berlino (13-23 febbraio) è l’evento che apre ogni nuovo anno di grandi appuntamenti con la settima arte. Dunque tutto pronto per aprire le porte alla nuova kermesse che alzerà il sipario nella capitale tedesca. 19 film si sfideranno per gli orsi d’oro e d’argento, tra cui un primo lungometraggio e un documentario. Sono rappresentate produzioni provenienti da 26 paesi. 17 film sono anteprime mondiali. Otto film sono stati diretti o co-diretti da donne. Nove registi hanno proiettato i loro film alla Berlinale in precedenza.
Oltre all’anteprima di Mickey 17, il film diretto da Bong Joon Ho con Robert Pattinson, si attendono Blue Moon di Richard Linklater, con Ethan Hawke, e la serie The Narrow Road to the Deep North con Jacob Elordi
A presiedere la Giuria Internazione del Concorso, che assegnerà l’Orso d’Oro e gli altri riconoscimenti è Todd Haynes. A inaugurare il Festival sarà il lungometraggio Das Licht”( La Luce) di Tom Tykwer presentato fuori concorso. Nel corso della cerimonia di apertura al Berlinale Palas, verrà omaggiata anche la star Tilda Swinton, premiata con l’Orso d’Oro alla carriera.
